Heartbreak is the great disrupter. It can decimate the sweetest life into a thousand pieces. Though romance has broken many hearts, there are many other culprits, such as crushing pain…an unfortunate side effect. 

Despite making major life plans, are we just doing what we want? 

For example, if we spent a summer watching Sex and the City reruns instead of building a business, did we procrastinate on the business we wanted to start, or did we not want to start that business? It’s a riddle, yet it’s solvable with some curiosity and reflection. 

The opposite of being a people pleaser is not bitch. 

When we start putting ourselves first, it can feel awkward. One common concern is, "If I do what I want, I will come off selfish.” It may feel that way now, but it passes. 

“But he loves me; I know he does.”

A phrase echoed around the world like a rocket ship breaking the atmosphere. 

It’s loud, has oomph, and is full of heart. And it should be—as it’s the very thing that’s kept many holding on. Crumb after crumb.

Many people in long-term relationships or marriages envy the freedom of their single friends. Those same single friends dream of a partnership and wish to meet someone ASAP. But isn’t it all just a piece of the journey? Sometimes, we’re single, and sometimes, we’re not. Some adore having a plus one, while others prefer an independent lifestyle.
